Enrichment Activities in Tunisia
The Fluent in Arabic Academy is proud to present a study abroad program that goes beyond its strong on-site coursework, 80 contact hours, through offering regular enrichment activities consisting of several field trips to many of the most important cultural and touristic sites in Tunisia. The expenses for these activities are included within the tuition fee.
Please find below a sample enrichment program (the information provided below is subject to change. The exact enrichment plan will be provided during the registration process):
Kairouan, El Djem and El Kantanoui (1 Day):
Early morning departure from Tunis towards Kairouan, visit of the great mosque, the Aghlabids basins and the Barber’s mausoleum. Spend a “do as you please” time in the Medina, then gather for breakfast at the Bab El Medina Restaurant. Visit El Djem to sightsee the impressive Roman amphitheater. Finally, spend some time in El Kantaoui port in Sousse before return.
Cape Bon (1 Day):
Departure for the city of Hammamet, visit a pottery workshop in Nabeul, and a carving stone workshop in Dar Chaabane. Continued on Kelibia, visit the fishing port and the Punic ruins at Kerkouene, then have lunch at a restaurant in El Haouaria. Visit the caves, continue to Korbous “do as you please” time with the "opportunity to have a Traditional Hammam (Turkish bath)" and return.
Northern Excursion Program (2 days / 1 night):
Day 1 (Tunis / Zaghouan / Dougga / Ain Draham / Tabarka):
Departure to Zaghouan to visit the temple of water, the site of Tuburbo Majus. Lunch at the Thugga hotel, visit of Thugga sites, continuation to spend a “do as you please” time in Ain Draham city, dinner and overnight in Tabarka.
2nd day (Tabarka / Bizerte / Tunis):
Breakfast then spend a “do as you please” time then have lunch in the town of Tabarka, continue to Bizerte via Sejnene, visit the city of Bizerte with a “do as you please time” at the port and return to Tunis.
Program tour of the South Oasis (3 days / 2 nights):
Day 1 (Tunis / Kairouan / Gafsa / Tozeur):
Departure to Gafsa via Kairouan and Tozeur. Lunch then check in at the Mouradi Tozeur Hotel (or similar).
2nd day (Tozeur / Douz / El Faouar):
Breakfast then visit of the mountain oasis and Chebika Tamerza Ongue Jemel in 4x4 (four wheel drive Sport Utility Vehicle) and return to hotel for lunch, continue to Douz via Chott El Djerid facility at the camp "Sun House" El Faouar for dinner and night activities.
3rd day (El Faouar / Matmata / Sfax / El Djem / Tunis):
Departure to visit the Matmata cave dwellings, Lunch at the restaurant Ennakhla continuation to Sfax then El Djem and back to Tunis.
